The Mountain School

The Mountain School (TMS) is located in Bellevue, Idaho and provides an environment that sets the foundation for a life-long love of learning and holistic balanced living. Our learning environment and our programs strive to awaken and encourage exploration through the head, heart, and hands (thinking, feeling and willing). Learning becomes much more than memorizing facts … learning becomes an engaging voyage to discover the world and oneself while the magic and wonder of childhood are protected and respected. We are a developing member of WECAN (Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America) and are working towards Full Membership.

The Mountain School offers the following programs based upon Waldorf educational philosophy and curriculums:

  • Kindergarten - offered five-days per week for ages 4-6.
  • Grades Program - offered five days per week for grades 1st, 2nd. and 3rd for 2012/13
  • After School Program for children 4-12 years old from September through May. We pick up at 2:30pm from Hailey and Woodside Elementary. Van ride back to Hailey at 5:20pm to Roberta McKercher Park for pick up is available.
  • Summer Camp sessions for children 4-12 years old. Click sidebar to register for summer camp 2012!

Our curriculum, based upon the Waldorf approach, consists of two major components - nurturing child development through practical and expressive arts and through exposure to permaculture (sustainable farm living). More information about Waldorf Education can be found on the Waldorf Education, Programs and FAQ sections of this web site. More detailed descriptions of our programs can be found on our "Programs" section.
